Governor Tate Reeves has said that this week is when Mississippi is supposed to hit its peak so he urges everyone to stay home as much as possible to help slow the spread of this virus.
COVID-19 is now in all but one of Mississippi’s 82 counties. Issaquena, still does not have a positive case of the virus.
In all, 37,733 people have been tested in the state and still only 29% are being hospitalized.
As always, remember to wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds, wear a mask over your mouth and nose, and stay 6 feet away from people.
Gov. Reeves’ shelter-in-place order is still in effect and will be until Monday, April 20th. This limits travel and work to essential only. You are able to go to the grocery store, pick up food from a restaurant, or take a walk outside – but please keep in mind social distancing.
He plans to make a decision today regarding schools in the state on if they will finish out the semester online or in person. Schools have been closed since mid-March.
