Guest says the bill includes a one-time cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for disabled veterans and their families. The COLA would be able to cover wartime disability compensation, a clothing allowance, and compensation for children and surviving spouses. The compensation amounts would be determined based on the Social Security Administration (SSA) adjustment and vary based on the degree of disability.
“This legislation will help veterans who served our nation. Our veterans deserve the best care our nation can provide, which is why I’m proud to support this cost-of-living adjustment for our heroes,” Guest said.
The COLA would take effect on December 1, 2020.
