The final defendant in the Kingston Frazier murder case has been sentenced.
19-year-old Dwan Wakefield will spend 40 years in prison after he was convicted on charges of accessory after the fact to murder, kidnapping and vehicle theft in late October.
Wakefield was one of three suspects arrested following the murder of 6-year-old Kingston Frazier in May 2017. Frazier was in the backseat of his mother’s car when it was stolen from a Kroger parking lot in Jackson in the early morning hours of May 18, 2017. The car was found in Gluckstadt hours later with Kingston’s dead body in the backseat.
Later that day, Byron McBride, Wakefield and D’Allen Washington were arrested. McBride, the shooter, pled guilty to Frazier’s murder and will spend life in prison.
Washington previously pled guilty to accessory after the fact to kidnapping and will spend 15 years in prison.
