The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 944 new cases of COVID-19.
Today’s report — the 4th day this week with under 1,000 new cases — brings the state’s total up to 70,930. With the confirmation of *32 additional deaths, 2,043 Mississippians have passed away from the virus.
MSDH Note: 11 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths occurred between June 17 and July 31, identified from death certificate reports.
Hospitalizations and ICU bed usage decreased in today’s report.
As of Monday, the MSDH was able to estimate that 49,836 Mississippians had recovered COVID-19.
