Several Rebels & Bulldogs earn All-SEC honors

Postseason honors are rolling in following the culmination of the regular season in college football with several Rebels and Bulldogs earning All-SEC honors.

Representing Ole Miss, WR Elijah Moore’s record-setting performance in 2020 landed him on the All-SEC First-Team. Moore, prior to opting out ahead of the LSU game, racked up 86 receptions and 1,193 receiving yards—both good for 2nd in the nation. Also a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, Moore set a single-season Ole Miss record for receptions and finished his collegiate career 13 receptions short of Laquon Treadwell’s Rebel record of202 total catches.

The other two finalists for the award given to the nation’s top receiver, Alabama WR DeVonta Smith & Florida TE Kyle Pitts, are also on the All-SEC First-Team.

Rebel RB Jerrion Ealy appears on the second-team as an all-purpose selection. The sophomore back led Ole Miss on the ground with 745 rushing yards on 147 carries with nine touchdowns. He added one touchdown in the passing game and a 100-yard kickoff return for a score in Baton Rouge in the regular-season finale.

In Starkville, the future is bright as a trio of newcomers earned spots on the Freshman All-SEC Team. WR Jaden Walley will enter the 2021 season as one of the most exciting young players in the conference after ending the season with four straight 100-yard games while setting a new Bulldog freshman record with 691 receiving yards.

DB Emmanuel Forbes picked off four passes, including two pick-sixes, in 2020—tied for the national lead among freshmen. The Grenada native also tallied 41 tackles and 10 passes defended during his first season in maroon and white.

Anchoring the offensive line, redshirt freshman Charles Cross earned his selection after earning top grades from Pro Football Focus following the Bulldogs’ matchups with Alabama and Arkansas.

Football season isn’t over yet in Mississippi as Ole Miss will face Indiana in the Outback Bowl and Mississippi State will travel to Texas for the Armed Forces Bowl against Tulsa.
